Let’s try again! Antares rocket launch Friday night may be seen here - WSLS 10

thekflow.blogspot.com

WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. – A rocket sending nearly 8,000 pounds worth of NASA science investigations, supplies and equipment (including a new space toilet) to the International Space Station is scheduled to launch from Wallops Island Friday night around 9:16 p.m.

This comes after the most recent attempt Thursday night was scrubbed.

Assuming that the launch goes off without issue, we could see it go off this far inland. With it being long after sunset, we may have a harder time seeing the trails. Make sure you get a dark spot and preferably a higher spot too. Look to the east for a dim light that will rise toward the northeast.

If we do see it in parts of the New River Valley, Roanoke Valley and Highlands, that would happen around 9:18 p.m. and shortly before that farther east.

NASA will be live streaming the event on its website.
