With fumbles on three of Cavalier's first four drives, the setting was fairly quiet in the early moments Saturday afternoon.
By the end, though, those car horns got a workout.
Cavalier quarterback Brannin Cleem scored five times and was one of three Tornadoes to break 100-yards rushing en route to a 52-6 win over Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg in the quarterfinals of the North Dakota 9-man playoffs.
"I really think we came to play and were physical, which helped us a lot," said Cleem, who ran 15 times for 122 yards.

After the early fumbles, Cavalier was back on course to close the second quarter, scoring touchdowns on all three of its final drives to close the first half with a 28-0 lead.
After a turnover on downs deep in May-Port-CG territory, Cavalier countered on the very next play with a Jacob Steele 15-yard touchdown run to push the lead to 16-0.
After another turnover on downs, the Tornadoes punched in a score with just three plays -- ending in a Cleem 11-yard touchdown run.
After a third-consecutive turnover on downs, Cavalier marched on a quick scoring drive. On fourth-and-4 from the 33, Cleem kept it around the outside for a 33-yard run and a 28-0 lead with nine seconds to halftime.
"He's always a steady guy for us," Cavalier coach Sandy Laxdal said of Cleem. "He's a glue guy. He keeps us together and makes plays."
May-Port-C-G's run-pass balance, which led to a 60-point offensive showing in the first round of the state playoffs, was limited both by Cavalier's defense and a harsh wind of 30 miles per hour. Cavalier threw for 8 yards and May-Port-C-G threw for 2 yards.
To make matters worse, Patriots star quarterback Sawyer Satrom was injured with four minutes left in the second quarter. He came back for one series after the injury but was forced to sit the entire second half.

"They're just a physical football team," May-Port-C-G coach Adam Sola said. "Our guys couldn't move them, and we couldn't run the ball when we needed to. As a team, we're built to throw the ball, and we couldn't loosen things up today."
May-Port-C-G's lone score came on special teams. Ethan Bergstrom returned a kick 55 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.
Otherwise, Cavalier defenders Andre LeTexier and Daniel Hinkle made it difficult for the Patriot offense.
"The No. 1 thing we really preached was to play solid defense and not give up the big play," Laxdal said. "We really focused on the perimeter and not letting them get the edge. Our kids did a great job gang-tackling, and that's kind of our mantra."
