Impax Asset Management has a $93.3 million position in the stock, comprising 0.8% of its 13F portfolio. The second most bullish fund manager is Diamond Hill Capital, led by Ric Dillon, holding a $34.6 million position; 0.2% of its 13F portfolio is allocated to the company. Remaining professional money managers that are bullish comprise Peter Rathjens, Bruce Clarke and John Campbell's Arrowstreet Capital, D. E. Shaw's D E Shaw and John Overdeck and David Siegel's Two Sigma Advisors. As you can see these stocks had an average of 17.9 hedge funds with bullish positions and the average amount invested in these stocks was $92 million. That figure was $153 million in FLOW's case. Ambarella Inc (NASDAQ:AMBA) is the most popular stock in this table. On the other hand Yext, Inc. (NYSE:YEXT) is the least popular one with only 11 bullish hedge fund positions. SPX FLOW, Inc. (NASDAQ:FLOW) is not the least popular stock in this group but hedge fund interest is still below average. Our overall hedge fund sentiment score for FLOW is 28.6. Stocks with higher number of hedge fund positions relative to other stocks as well as relative to their historical range receive a higher sentiment score. Our calculations showed that top 20 most popular stocks among hedge funds returned 41.3% in 2019 and outperformed the S&P 500 ETF (SPY) by 10 percentage points. These stocks gained 32.9% in 2020 through December 8th and still beat the market by 16.2 percentage points. A small number of hedge funds were also right about betting on FLOW as the stock returned 32.8% since the end of the third quarter (through 12/8) and outperformed the market by an even larger margin.
