Des Moines man arrested in relation to early May attempted murder - Des Moines Register

A Des Moines man was arrested early Saturday morning for attempted murder on a warrant related to a shooting incident in May that police believe is gang-related.

Shannon Travion Pope, 18, was arrested by police at 12:29 a.m. and charged with attempted murder and intimidation with a dangerous weapon, with intent to injure or provoke fear, according to police records. His bail is set at $500,000.

The warrant was related to a shooting incident May 6 at 13th and Harrison, said Des Moines Police Sgt. Paul Parizek. He did not have further information about the arrest as of Saturday afternoon.

Fabrece Jamar Bower Turner, 22, was also arrested May 15 on charges related to the May 6 shooting. Police said the incident is believed to be linked with multiple other gang-related shootings that are under investigation.

Pope is currently being held in Adams County.
