BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ and presenter Seani B was also among the many expressing heartfelt tributes.

“My Bro, I appreciate the love, friendship, and hospitality you showed me when I was on the rock.... Condolences to the family and friends of a 90s Dancehall Star,” he wrote, adding “Your name will forever be in the Dancehall Scrolls Boom Dandimite.”

In late April, Dandimite and rising artiste Willful Skilful were injured in a car accident on Half Way Tree Road in the vicinity of a popular bakery.

Dandimite was hospitalised while Wilful Skilful was discharged and sent home. Days later, Boom Dandimite, whose real name is Herman Stewart, was discharged from hospital.

However, the veteran deejay reportedly suffered a relapse during his recovery and left the island for the United States for treatment over the weekend.

“Boom Dandimite travelled to the US (Saturday), but after he came off the plane, he fainted away. He just got sick not long after reaching the US. He started to foam at the mouth, so they rushed him to a hospital and he died (Sunday) morning,” a source told OBSERVER ONLINE.
