JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas (AFNS) --
Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force JoAnne Bass, along with other senior enlisted leaders, will share her personal perspective on mentoring and the impact it has made on her personal life and career as part of a virtual panel May 25.
Registration for “From Good to Great through Personal Perspectives: A Panel of Mentors” is now open. Sponsored by Air Education and Training Command, the panel also features Chief Master Sgt. Erik C. Thompson, command chief of AETC, alongside Chief Master Sgts. Keith Castille and Stefan Blazier from Headquarters, Air Force A1D.
“Mentorship is imperative to the growth of all Airmen,” said Quency L. Henson, AETC’s mentoring council lead. “No matter your rank, position, or location, this event is for you so that our Total Force can better understand the benefits of mentoring and mentorship.”
The event will be interactive and participants will have the opportunity to ask panelists questions live during the event.
To register for the event and get the ZoomGov link, email HQAETC.A1DF.CivForceDev@us.af.mil. Registration closes May 21 and is limited to 1,000 people.
The panel is the second mentorship event AETC’s Mentoring Council has hosted this year, following a two-day leadership mentoring symposium held in late January, Henson said.
Henson said for Total Force Airmen interested in finding a mentor, they are encouraged to utilize the Air Force mentoring tool, MyVector, when formally selecting a mentor. On MyVector, mentees will be able to, in real-time, invite participants to serve as mentors, select mentors based on preferences, chat with their mentor online, and complete a mentoring plan.
For those interested in being a mentor, you can also register through MyVector.
Additionally on MyVector, mentees can find a tool for self-development linked to the Air Force’s foundational competencies.
