The annual springtime celebration Tacos ’n Tequila Fiesta is back this year at the Old Cigar Warehouse in downtown Greenville, although some health and safety precautions will remain in place.
The festival will be held on Sunday, May 2, and will consist of two three-hour sessions — the first from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. and the second from 4 to 7 p.m. VIP ticket holders, however, will be allowed a “30 minute early start,” so those wishing to avoid crowds entirely for that window should consider that option.
Festival organizers said the decision to split the event in two sessions was to limit capacity and allow for social distancing.
“The past 12 months have taught everyone about the needs for safety,” said Tammy Johnson, CEO of High Spirits Hospitality, which is organizing the event.
As in years past, the festival will feature local bartenders and chefs showcasing their mixology and culinary skills, with attendees reaping the benefits.
Each ticket includes all-you-can-eat tacos and unlimited tequila cocktails and beers, along with live musical entertainment from DJ Santi, side-table games and more.
Tickets come in three options: $50 for general admission (communal seating, no masks required while sitting down), $55 priority tickets (reserved seating) or $75 VIP tickets (reserved seating plus perks).
All attendees must be 21 years of age or older, and you’ll have to show a valid ID if you want to get in.
VIP ticket holders, in addition to getting an early start, will also get access to reserved seating in the VIP area, VIP tequila tasting menu, VIP bar, VIP “swag bag,” plus chips, salsa and guacamole for the table.
If you want to reserve a table, you can do so in groups of four, six or eight. Table reservations are available only for VIP ticket holders or priority ticket holders.
COVID-19 precautions
- All attendees and vendors will be asked to wear masks at all times when moving around
- Tables will be responsibly spaced apart
- All guests will have their temperatures checked at the door
- Additional sanitation measures are in place before, during and after the event
- Refunds are available to anyone who has to stay home due to contraction of COVID-19, assuming they can show some form of proof (test results or doctors note, for example) that they or someone with whom they have been in close contact have contracted the virus. Otherwise, all tickets are nonrefundable.
