PG&E announced in a press release on Wednesday that water flows in the North Fork Feather River will be increased for whitewater recreation on Saturday and Sunday.
The increase in water flows will be in the Crest Reach, a 6.5 mile portion of the North Fork of the Feather River in Plumas National Forest.
The whitewater flows will be increased to 750 cubic feet per second by 9 a.m. Saturday, with flows maintaining the higher levels until 2 p.m. Sunday when they will be lowered to 100 cfs.
During the increase in water flows the river will contain Class III, Class IV and Class V rapids only appropriate for skilled paddlers and not appropriate for tubing, the release said.
This increase in water flows will be in addition to the pulse flows happening Wednesday through Friday below the Poe Dam, further downstream of the Feather River.
