The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have marked Prince Louis’ second birthday with new photos of him doing some rainbow coloured hand-painting for the NHS.
In the shots, captured by his mum Kate at their home in Norfolk earlier this month, the toddler can be seen beaming as he playfully holds his hands up to the camera. His brown hair is neatly combed and he is dressed in a smart blue gingham-style shirt.
Rainbows have become a symbol for the NHS during the coronavirus crisis, with children across the UK putting drawings and paintings in their windows as a sign of support.
Another photo reveals Louis’ finished masterpiece, framed with a green border. The Prince, who is the youngest of Kate and William’s three children, turns two today and will celebrate with his family at home.
Kate is a keen amateur photographer, and is patron of the Royal Photographic Society. She has regularly taken and released photos of each of her children to mark their birthdays.

Both Prince George, six, and Princess Charlotte, four, are currently being homeschooled by their parents, with the Cambridges even admitting that lessons were continuing despite the Easter Holidays.
During a video interview with the BBC, Kate said the family had experienced ‘ups and downs’ just like any other, and added with a laugh: ‘Don’t tell the children, we’ve actually kept it going through the holidays. I feel very mean’.
She continued: ‘It’s just having that bit of structure, actually. It’s great, there are so many great tips online and fun activities that you can do with the children so it hasn’t been all hardcore.’
The Duchess also revealed her surprise at her children’s awareness about the coronavirus pandemic, and said she had tackled the subject with them in ‘age appropriate’ ways.
She said: ‘George is much older than Louis is, and but they are aware. I think I am always surprised. Although you don’t want to scare them or make it too overwhelming, I think it is appropriate to acknowledge it in simple ways, in age appropriate ways.’
Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge, fifth in line to the throne, was born on St George’s Day, April 23, 2018, at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, weighing 8lb 7oz.
He was then christened at 11 weeks old, by Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace in front of friends and family.
The Prince has not been seen out in public as much as his siblings due to his young age. Last year he was spotted pointing and waving on Buckingham Palace balcony during the Trooping the Colour ceremony, which was his first public engagement.

He was also filmed taking part in the NHS Clap for Carers event with Charlotte and George at their home earlier this month.
