ANT McPartlin and girlfriend Anne-Marie Corbett are building a swimming pool in the garden of their £6million love-nest.

A council approved plans for the secluded bathing spot after hearing it was shielded by trees and could not be overlooked by the neighbours.

The couple, both 44, will also be building a Victorian-style changing room alongside the pool.

TV’s Ant and his former PA Anne-Marie have been developing their seven-bedroom gated home since moving in in 2018.

It is set back from the road in Wimbledon, South West London, and has five reception rooms, a cinema and an open-plan kitchen.

There is also a posh dining room and a conservatory overlooking the gardens.

Together with the pool, the existing plans include two single-storey extensions and a garage conversion to a bathroom.

I’m a Celebrity star Ant’s planning agent said of the pool plan: “The existing rear garden is a good size with a boundary fence around the sides of the property with mature trees on all sides adding to the privacy."

“There is very little overlooking possible between ground floors of neighbouring properties.”

He went on: “The rear garden is very secluded and the proposed swimming pool and the garden room will not be visible from neighbouring houses.”

Giving the plans the green light, the council said the proposed alterations were “designed to reflect the character and appearance of the original building”.

A spokesman said the plans would “not harm neighbour amenity”.

Ant previously owned a £2.3million mansion in Chiswick, West London. He handed the keys to his former wife Lisa Armstrong, 43, in a divorce settlement in 2018.

She put the home on the market last January. Ant’s best pal and partner Declan Donnelly, 44, still lives in the street with wife Ali Astall, 42, and their 19-month-old daughter Isla.
