Meanwhile, Daisy revealed she found the negative reaction to Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker 'really tricky' following its release in December last year.

The film received mixed reviews from both critics and fans upon release, receiving a mediocre 56 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Fans criticised the final film in the Skywalker saga for undermining Rey's hero's journey, as well as sidelining Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran), and how the film dealt with Kylo Ren's redemption arc.

'January was not that nice': Meanwhile, Daisy revealed she found the negative reaction to Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker 'really tricky' following its release in December last year

Speaking about how she found the reaction in RuPaul's Drag Race star Nina West's podcast DragCast, Daisy admitted: '[Reaction has] changed film by film honestly, like 98% it's so amazing, this last film it was really tricky.

'January was not that nice. It was weird, I felt like all of this love that we'd sort of been shown the first time around, I was like, "Where's the love gone?"

'I watched the documentary, the making-of [The Skywalker Legacy], this week, and it's so filled with love; and I think it's that tricky thing of when you're part of something that is so filled with love and then people [don't like it].'

Later on, she added: 'You know, everyone's entitled to not like something but it feels like it's changed slightly. I think in general that's because [of] social media and what have you.'

Criticism: The film received mixed reviews from critics and fans and got just 56 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes, with many hitting out at how the film undermined Rey's hero's journey
