Fans Confused By James Corden's 'Posh' Accent On Saturday Night Takeaway - LADbible

The British comedian was a guest on the show, appearing via video link from his home in Los Angeles, with the Geordie duo hosting from their respective homes, too.

They had him on to look back at one of the iconic moments from the show, namely their 2016 prank on the Gavin and Stacey star.

Speaking to the lads, Corden said: "They are fond memories, the first thing I can't believe is that it was in 2016.

"It feels oddly like it was last week, time feels like it has sped up in such a way.

"I remember thinking, 'Oh my goodness, they've got me proper' - in a way I never thought you would or could."

But while he reminisced about old times, viewers just couldn't get their head around his strange accent.

Taking to Twitter, fans shared their confusion.

One person asked: "What's happened to James Corden's voice? Has he got a bet with someone?"

A second user wrote: "Why has @JKCorden accent changed so much to become like Prince William's English?"

"Best part of the show was James Corden debuting his new accent, WTF!" joked a third.

While another added: "Money's not changed James Corden's accent....MUCH."

Fair play to Ant and Dec, though, looking back at their prank, they really did get him.

But Corden definitely hasn't let it go and said he's using his lockdown time to come up with the perfect revenge.

He said: "This has made me really remember how wonderful it's going to be to get you both back.

"That's what's going to get me through this whole time!"
