The GMB host, who has previously been sceptical of the former Sussex couple, has criticised their approach to the current coronavirus crisis, which has seen thousands of people lose their lives around the world.
Piers tweeted: “Interesting to see so many previously diehard ‘LEAVE THESE SAINTS ALONE!’ Meghan/Harry fans turning on them over their latest absurd me-me-me antics.
“The world’s changed and people have zero tolerance for whiny rich privileged pampered celebrities during this #Coronavirus crisis.”
This prompted many of the TV host’s fans to respond in agreement with his strong words.
One said: “Got to be honest I was fully behind Harry and Meghan but it’s starting to grate a bit now.”
Another replied: “I'm just amazed how totally tone-deaf they are.”
A third commented: “I agree with him. Get a feel for the room, guys!"
It comes as Piers had previously praised the Cambridges for helping in this time of “national crisis” after they dialled into Casterton Primary Academy to talk with teachers and students last week.

It comes as this week the lawsuit filed by Meghan against The Mail on Sunday will begin.
The sister paper of The Mail published letters that Meghan had sent to her father in 2018 amid her upcoming nuptials to Prince Harry.
In a letter, the Sussexes expressed the many grievances they have held against tabloid newspapers for years.
“Media have every right to report on and indeed have an opinion on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, good or bad,” the letter said.
“But it can’t be based on a lie.”
Meghan and Harry continue to self-isolate in their new LA mansion with their young son Archie.
The couple has previously been spotted out delivering meals to the most vulnerable in West Hollywood as part of the Angel Food Project.
The Project’s executive director Richard Ayoub revealed how the couple selflessly volunteered to help those living with chronic illness in West Hollywood.
He explained how Meghan and Harry took two days to deliver the meals to those at a higher risk of coronavirus.
