To the man who declared himself “the world’s most famous gay, gun-toting cowboy with a mullet” there is no theory too outlandish when it comes to speculating on the truth about Florida’s most colourful missing person’s case.
To the sheriff trying to solve the mystery, the 1997 disappearance of Don Lewis is not as straightforward as Joe Exotic, the protagonist of the Netflix docu-series Tiger King, might wish.
“I can’t even begin to describe how complicated this case is,” said Chad Chronister, the sheriff of Hillsborough County, who is handling the hunt for clues amid extraordinary public interest generated by the series.
