Kate has been enduring a harrowing time of late as it has been reported her husband, Derek Draper is still struggling with COVID-19 and remains unresponsive. What are the symptoms to spot?
Derek was taken to hospital over a month ago after displaying symptoms of COVID-19.
As the COVID-19 pandemic surges on, doctors, health experts and scientists are learning more about some of the lesser known and odd symptoms being reported.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has expanded its list of possible symptoms of coronavirus, a step which signifies how the deadly virus has such a broad variation and unpredictability in the way it can affect individual patients.
The health agency changed details on its website to cite new symptoms.
As most know, the common symptoms of COVID-19 include a new, persistent cough, shortness of breath and a fever.
However, other warning symptoms have included loss of taste and smell, burning or tingling on the skin, a buzzing or fizzing feeling in the body, nose congestion, diarrhoea and vomiting.
Director of epidemiology education at Indiana University said: “Eventually, if all goes well, your immune system will completely destroy all of the virus in your system.
“I know that it's only their professionalism, dedication and bravery that has kept Derek with us so far.
“I also know that they are working just as hard on all the patients in their care.
“It’s hard to find the right words because thank you alone just doesn’t seem enough, but I do thank them with all my heart, as I know Derek would also if he could.”
