Since this would have been Seton Hall's graduation month, we will highlight our seniors as part of our "May Senior Spotlight Series." Powered by Under Armour, we engaged select seniors with a little question and answer session about their time at The Hall.
MICHAL MATSON
TENNIS
Michal "Mikey" Matson (Christchurch, New Zealand) has been integral member of the Seton Hall Athletics community over the last four years. On the court, she was terrific for the Pirates. As a freshman, she helped The Hall reach the BIG EAST Championship semifinals for the first time in more than a decade with wins at No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles to help beat Georgetown. Her junior campaign was particularly impressive when she began spring season with singles wins in nine of her first 11 matches.
Off the court, Matson has been devoted to serving her fellow student-athletes and the community. She has participated in many H.A.L.L. Program service activities, and she has been a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, including serving as the president in 2019-20. She is a three-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic team for having a cumulative GPA above 3.0 with the expectation that she will be named to a fourth this summer.
Matson's Seton Hall experience was profiled in the University's alumni magazine that was published in April.
