EASTENDERS fans were left in shock as Whitney Dean KILLS her stalker Leo King in self-defence.

Viewers have watched the nail-biting scenes as Leo, who is the son of Whitney's peadophile abuser, stalked her from the attic of her house.

He had been hiding there for a week, as he spied on Whitney from a peep hole.

Then things escalated on Tuesday when he tried to murder her.

Luckily, Leo was caught and the police are now on his tail - but it became clear throughout tonight's episode that Leo was still in the house.

As she's on the phone to the police after a letter from Tony is stolen, he peeks through the door to watch her.

"It feels like he's still here, I've been scrubbing and scrubbing," Whitney says to Kat Slater, as Leo listens in.

When Whitney is washing her hands, Leo grabs her phone and texts Kat that "she's going to be late" so they don't get suspicious.

He then confronts her in the bedroom about the letter.

Leo said: "I read it. Dad's letter. Didn't take long. Couldn't have taken him long to write it. Then right at the end, right before he was about to end it all, he had the heart to write that. Dearest Whit, I always loved you. He forgave you."

Whitney said: "He had to believe that it was some love story. But it weren't, because he was a grown man and I was a 12-year-old girl."

She added: "I've told you the truth time and time again. He was sick. He was twisted. You're not like that. Don't let him ruin your life like he tried to mine."

However, he didn't believe Whitney and went to attacked her. She hit him over the head and ran away.

As they scrambled in the kitchen, Leo hit his head on the table.

He wasn't dead, however, and lunged at her once more. As they collapsed onto the floor, Whitney had the knife out - and he stabbed him in the chest.

Viewers were shocked by the scene, with one person saying: "OH MY GOD. As if that's actually the end of Leo? Those were the most tense 5 minutes ever, the whole scene. @ShonaBM @Tom_Wells26 KILLED it (mind the pun)! And that's just the start of an even more tense week to come..
