The Duke was joined by his ever-present bodyguards as he made himself comfortable on the 5 hour train out of Kings Cross to Edinburgh on Wednesday. This attitude contrasted with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who travelled up to Loughborough last week on a train seated happily alongside other paying commuters.
Buckingham Palace refused to speak on Harry’s travel arrangements after being asked for comment.
However, Twitter had plenty of their own opinions on the matter.
One said: “Funny working on plans for greener travel for all. WELL, he managed that when he took all the seats, the rest had to walk home by the fields.
A second responded: “If he can book out the entire first class he can pay for his own security. No problem there.”
A third remarked: “He has lost touch with reality.”
The criticism stems from the juxtaposition of other family members, including senior royals Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, who opt to travel alongside the general public when attending engagements.

Including a visit to Sir Elton John’s sprawling French mansion.
The multi-award-winning singer said at the time that he had paid for the Sussexes flight, so they could “maintain a high level of much-needed protection.”
In a fiercely worded tweet, Mr John defended the globe-trotting couple for their “hard work.”
He posted: “I am deeply distressed by today’s distorted and malicious account in the press surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s private stay at my home in Nice last week,” he said.
“After a hectic year continuing their hard work and dedication to charity, David and I wanted the young family to have a private holiday inside the safety and tranquility of our home.
“To maintain a high level of much-needed protection, we provided them with a private jet flight.”
The backlash comes after the Duke declared he no longer wants to be called Prince Harry.
The shock announcement to drop his royal title was delivered on stage at Edinburgh Waverly station on Tuesday night, prior to the Duke speaking at an eco-tourism conference on Wednesday.
Former Labour advisor and broadcaster Ayesha Hazarika, introduced Harry to the crowd, telling delegates: “He’s made it clear that we are all just to call him Harry.
“So ladies and gentlemen, please give a big, warm, Scottish welcome to Harry.”
