Love Island makes a big blunder on air over one Islander - digitalspy.com

Love Island viewers are still getting to know the 12 new bombshells… and apparently so are the ITV2 show's editors.

The lack of familiarity with the villa's newbies became abundantly clear in Thursday's (February 6) episode during a segment before that hugely dramatic recoupling completely rattled everyone's emotions.

Various Islanders were discussing their odds of finding a partner in the Beach Hut, with new bombshell Ched Uzor among them speaking about his hopes of wooing Jess Gale.

"She might be leaning towards me, but you're never really sure," he admitted. "You're never really sure until the decision is made, so you've got to write that conclusion for the assignment. Know what I mean?"

Hopefully, Jess is actually able to spell Ched's name correctly because the on-screen graphic during his Beach Hut segment got it wrong. He was credited on screen as "Chied".

Of course, some eagle-eyed viewers were quick to pick up on the mistake, and kindly pointed out the gaffe on social media.

One quipped: "Looks like Ched is going to get pied."

As it turned out, Ched did not actually get pied! He was one of the few new bombshells to make it over to the original villa when Jess Gale chose to couple with him.

Viewers also had another gripe about Thursday's episode when producers left off the traditional Next Time trailer. That was probably an intentional choice given the tense ending of the recoupling ceremony!
