VIEWERS have reacted with outrage to tonight's bombshell Michael Barrymore documentary.
Channel 4's Barrymore, The Body in The Pool examined the death of Stuart Lubbock, 31, whose body was found at Barrymore's £2million Essex bungalow after a party in 2001.
The TV star has continuously denied any wrongdoing - but police insist divorced dad-of-two Stuart was raped and murdered.
The documentary relived the events on the night of March 31 when Stuart was found dead and the aftermath.
Viewers took to social media to express their horror after watching tonight's two-hour programme.
One person tweeted: "Watching this program is making my blood boil.
"Of those people at the party, at least one of them knows the truth about how Stuart died. How can they live with themselves, keeping the truth from the Lubbock family?
"It’s utterly unforgivable."
Another posted: "This is scandalous and utterly pathetic .... I'm horrified."
One person wrote: "A total disgrace!"
And a fourth said: "I remember feeling so uncomfortable seeing Michael Barrymore lapping up the cheers from the crowd on Big Brother".
Another wrote: "Stuart's injuries were horrendous & somebody capable of that is not just drunk or high but evil."
One person tweeted: "This #Barrymore doc about the death of Stuart Lubbock is horrific.
DOCUMENTARY OUTRAGE
"Somebody knows where and how Stuart sustained those injuries, and somebody else has almost certainly heard somebody else talking about it, such is human nature."
People expressed their sadness for the Lubbock family, with some backing former ITV star Barrymore.
One viewer tweeted: "It's so sad for the Lubbock family, devastatingly awful and I understand how they will never get over any of this, there has been no closure for them".
Another said: "BodyInThePool deeply sad for the death of this young man and the case remain unresolved".
And a third wrote: "Barrymore is innocent. An orgy gone wrong".
The Sun exclusively revealed Barrymore and his seven pool party guests at his home in Roydon are still being linked to the alleged rape and murder of Stuart.
Experts told tonight's bombshell documentary they weren't convinced Stuart had drowned.
Stuart met Barrymore at an Essex nightclub before being invited back to the ITV star’s bungalow.
Keith Miller, the taxi driver who drove them to Barrymore's home, told programme makers the Strike It Lucky star told him: "I could do with a f*** right now."
A party at the swanky pad began at 2.47am with the emergency services called at 5.38am and Stuart pronounced dead at 8.23am.
In the documentary, the 999 recording first made to emergency services on the night is heard, with a man saying ‘a geezer’s drowned in the pool’.
He then tells the operator ‘I think the geezer’s dead, mate’.
An initial post-mortem gave Staurt's cause of death as drowning.
The coroner ordered a second post-mortem by Professor Chris Milroy, who told the C4 documentary: "I wasn’t convinced drowning was the correct cause of death.
“Even though he was found in the water that does not mean he has died there."
A third forensic pathologist Dr Ian Calder, a drowning expert, who examined Stuart's body told the Channel 4 documentary makers: “Stuart’s lungs did not show the critical appearances of drowning.
"It didn’t add up to a classical drowning.”
Stuart's anal injuries were 'horrific', Dr Michael Heath told documentary makers.
Stuart’s dad Terry Lubbock told the documentary makers: “It has consumed me, what happened to Stuart.
"It has taken over my life.”
'HORRIFIC' INJURIES
Barrymore, 67, today broke his silence to claim he has been "bashed and bullied" over the death.
Speaking in a video posted in Twitter today, Barrymore said: "Channel 4 are refusing to show it to me or tell me what it is about.
"Anyone who wants to get to the truth of the matter should watch the ITV interview I did last year with Piers Morgan. He went into everything and left no stone unturned.
"The truth is, I have always done everything asked of me and I've co-operated with everyone.
"Essex Police's own QC has said that 'we know that Mr Barrymore has nothing to do with this and that there is no evidence linking him to the injuries on Mr Lubbock or the pool.
"I have had nothing to do with this whatsoever and yet I keep getting bashed and bullied by the media."
A 2002 inquest recorded an open verdict after failing to conclude what caused Stuart’s death.
Cops believe Stuart was assaulted then either died in the jacuzzi, or went unconscious and was dumped in the pool to make it look like drowning.
Despite several arrests, no criminal charges have been brought over the death due to lack of evidence.
A £20,000 reward has been put up for information - after cops blasted the “lies” spun over the past 19 years.
Investigators were looking into the possibility Stuart's murder was “covered up”.
A swimming pool thermometer from the hot tub — which could have been used in a sex assault on the victim — later went missing.
Let me be clear — I believe Stuart Lubbock was murdered. And we will catch whoever did it.
DCI Jennings
A broken shed handle, seen by officers, also disappeared and was not found in any bins at the property in Roydon.
Cops said the brutality of the sex assault would match one or both of the objects.
A 2002 inquest heard that Barrymore’s then-PA Michael Browne was called to the house.
Police yesterday said other unnamed men “close to Barrymore” were also allowed in — giving the perfect opportunity to clean up the scene.
DCI Stephen Jennings said: "One line of inquiry has to be that this could have been a cover-up.
“But there is a chance whoever did this just got lucky and no evidence was left at the scene.”
He added: “Let me be clear — I believe Stuart Lubbock was murdered. And we will catch whoever did it.
“I don’t think there’s anyone else there — realistically — other than the eight people that were there on the night. Of the people arrested, no one has been eliminated from inquiries.
"We believe at least one person is responsible — but it could be two or more.
“I can’t rule out a single individual being responsible — but on balance of probability there was more than likely more than one person involved.”
