Royal heartbreak: George and Charlotte WON'T see the Queen on Easter as plans are revealed - Express

While the world has been swept up in the grip of the coronavirus pandemic, Easter celebrations will have to be a little different this year and the Royal Family is now exception. Now, Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge's have changed their plans for the children.

Celebrations may be a little different this year for Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and one-year-old Prince Louis.

Prince William and Kate are believed to be staying at their country home, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk, and it's likely that they will have lots of activities planned for their young family.

Coming from a family of party planners the Duchess is likely to have a lot of tricks up her sleeves to entertain her children.

Kate is known to have been heavily involved in her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton's business, Party Pieces.

Kate has spoken out about the typical Cambridge Easter Sunday in the past.

In 2018, while at the annual Easter day service in Windsor, Kate told some little girls outside St George's Chapel that George and Charlotte had enjoyed an Easter egg hunt in the morning.

This will no doubt be recreated this year in Norfolk.

While the children have never publicly joined their parents at the annual Easter Sunday service, William and Kate have been regular attendees throughout the years.

Last year's church service was particularly special as it fell on the Queen's 93rd birthday and the Duchess was captured curtsying to the monarch as she arrived.

However, the Queen and the Cambridges will be apart this year for the first time in years.

Usually the royals celebrate Easter with the monarch in Windsor, but this year they will be apart in their respective homes.

This is due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, which forced the Queen to leave Buckingham palace early to self-isolate in Windsor castle.

However, there is no doubt the family will be keeping in touch with one another using modern technology, such as video messaging.

The Royal Family are well known for keeping up to date with technology including the 93-year-old monarch.

The Queen has long been hailed as tech-savvy, her majesty even having her own Twitter and Instagram account.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte have been sending "chatty videos" to the Queen to keep her entertained during lockdown.

Prince William and Kate’s three children speak to the Queen, and the Duke of Edinburgh “as often as possible”, a source has claimed.

George and Charlotte have been phoning their great-grandmother as well as sending “chatty videos”.

The source told The Sun: “Kate Middleton ensures that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis speak to the Queen, known as ‘Gan Gan’, and Prince Philip as often as possible.

“Prince Charles is also very much in touch with the Cambridge trio.

“They do like to chat away to Grandpa Charles and get lots of very helpful tips from him on animals and flowers, and speak to him about lambs, squirrels, highland cattle etc.”

When the family learned of Charles’s coronavirus diagnosis, the children sent him a sweet gesture to wish their grandfather a speedy recovery.

They painted handmade “get well soon” cards and mailed them to Charles’s house in Scotland.

Charles has now recovered from the disease but continues to follow government advice.
