Duchess of Cambridge celebrates wedding anniversary in very special way - Express

According to the Court Circular, the Duchess of Cambridge spent the afternoon in a virtual roundtable discussion. The organisations involved in the meeting are charities which aim to help new mothers and pregnant women.

Kate and Prince William were married on April 29 2011 at Westminster Abbey in a service that was broadcast around the world.

On Wednesday the royal couple celebrated nine years of marriage.

The pair are currently isolating with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, at Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

Kate is said to be passionate about parenting, having launched initiatives aimed to help research early childhood.

The Duchess of Cambridge launched an online survey titled “5 Big Questions on the Under Fives” earlier this year.

It aimed to start a national conversation on the early years of childhood.

The survey is now closed but the findings will reportedly be released in the coming months.

The 5 Big Questions brought together thoughts of individuals, organisation and businesses in order to try and help build the healthiest generation in history.

The caption read: “Nine years ago - thank you for all your lovely messages on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding anniversary.”

Prince Harry, who was the best man, and Pippa Middleton, the maid of honour, can be seen behind the couple.

Social media users congratulated the couple in response to their Instagram post.

One user said: “That was nine years? Wow it doesn’t feel that long! Happy Anniversary to the Duke and Duchess!”

Another posted: “Congratulations to this beautiful couple, best wishes for many more healthy and happy years to come!”

During the coronavirus lockdown, the royal couple have been using video calls to support charities, schools, the NHS and to talk about mental health.

Last week, the Cambridges joined in clapping the frontline workers by making a surprise TV appearance on the BBC’s Big Night In.

Prince William is set to appear in a new documentary addressing mental health as part of the BBC’s Mental health Awareness Week.

The documentary is reportedly titled, “Tackling Mental health with the Duke of Cambridge”.

The film shows Prince William discussing men’s mental health through the prism of football.
