Cats' mauling continues as it dominates Razzie Awards nominations - digitalspy.com

Following its mauling by critics and fans, Cats has earned the most nominations at the Razzie Awards this year.

Tom Hooper's adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's original musical has earned nine nods at the Golden Raspberry Awards 2020 - the award ceremony which honours the worst movies of the past year.

There's a popular myth that cats have nine lives - are the Razzies secretly using the occasion to celebrate the ancient proverb too?

Among its Razzie nods, Cats has been nominated for Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Screen Combo and Worst Screenplay.

Francesca Hayward has received a Razzie nod for Worst Actress, James Corden for Worst Supporting Actor, and both Judi Dench and Rebel Wilson have been nominated for Worst Supporting Actress.

Right after Cats, leading the Razzies this year are Hellboy, The Haunting of Sharon Tate with Hilary Duff and John Travolta-fronted thriller The Fanatic.

One Razzie nomination that is set to raise eyebrows for sure is Todd Phillips' Joker which has been honoured in a new category called 'Worst Reckless Disregard for Human Life and Public Property'.

For a second year in a row, the Razzie winners will be announced after the Oscars this year.
