Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's REAL reason for vicious attack on Queen Elizabeth II - Express

Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan Markle, 38, have sparked heated criticism in the UK over the couple's "pointed" tone in their announcement they will no longer use the brand Sussex Royal from Spring 2020. But commentator Jane Moore believes the statement wasn’t aimed at Queen Elizabeth II but also had a heartbreaking link to Princess Diana. Ms Moore explained it is aimed at the “men in grey suits”.

Speaking on ITV’s Loose Women, Ms Moore said: “They’ve employed a big showbiz publicist so obviously they do want to be in the papers or in the media.

“Harry’s mum, Diana, always used to talk about the grey men of the Palace and for sure, there are people in the Palace who have worked there for years and think a certain way and they’re always briefing behind the scenes.

“I think this statement is aimed more at them from Harry than it is actually at his grandmother.

“I think he actually adores his grandmother.

“But people have made that leap thinking it’s critical of the Queen but it isn’t, it’s about the Monarchy.”

She went on to say she understands why their trademark has to change due to them getting involved with commercial activities.

It comes after the Queen said they could not work under the name "Sussex Royal" after stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have confirmed they will not be using the trademark.

In their statement, Meghan and Harry said: “While there is precedent for other titled members of the Royal Family to seek employment outside of the institution, for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, a 12-month review period has been put in place.

“While there is not any jurisdiction by The Monarchy or Cabinet Office over the use of the word ‘Royal’ overseas, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not intend to use ‘Sussex Royal’ or any iteration of the word ‘Royal’ in any territory (either within the UK or otherwise) when the transition occurs Spring 2020.”

The royals seemed to be remarking once again they don’t entirely agree with the terms of the agreement seeing them entirely stepping back from royal duties.

The statement read: “The preference of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex was to continue to represent and support Her Majesty The Queen albeit in a more limited capacity, while not drawing on the Sovereign Grant.”

It added: “Per the agreement, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex understand that they are required to step back from Royal duties and not undertake representative duties on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen.”

Prince Harry had already voiced his discontent at the Queen’s ruling on this issue during a heartfelt speech delivered at a charity event for his organisation, Sentebale, in late January.

He said: “What I want to make clear is we’re not walking away, and we certainly aren’t walking away from you.

“Our hope was to continue serving the Queen, the commonwealth, and my military associations, but without public funding."
