Royal author Robert Hardman discussed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's actions over the 'Royal Sussex' brand, with talkRADIO host Mike Graham. Mr Hardman blasted the statement the couple released on Friday evening claiming the pair showed "bad manners". The royal expert also questioned the advice the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been given in dealing with the trademark conflict.
Mr Hardman said: "I think the one thing in that statement over the weekend that even their supporters are finding really difficult is this disrespect to the Queen.
"This extraordinary statement within this very long statement where they say actually it is not up to the Queen or the British Government who uses the word royal internationally, they have no jurisdiction.
"That is wrong in law, there are various international rules governing trademarks...but it is effectively saying that the Queen doesn’t own this issue anyway.
"I think given that the Queen has gone out of her way to make this transition for them as smooth and as relatively easy as possible I think it is bad manners.

"I would love to know who was advising them."
Last week royal expert Ingrid Seward told Mike Graham the Queen has "compromised" in the 'Sussex Royal' row with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, leaving her deeply "saddened".
Ms Seward said: "I think the Queen has compromised.
"I think it is a compromise all round.
"They have made it perfectly clear what Harry and Meghan can and can’t do."
The bombshell reports Harry and Meghan may have to drop the use of "Sussex Royal" in their official branding will come as a major blow to the young couple, as they had invested hugely in the trademark.
But the Sussex row is not the only plight facing the Firm, as the Monarchy has been rocked by announcements already in 2020.
The Queen received a further blow to her goal of a united Royal Family earlier this month when it was announced her grandson Peter Phillips and his wife, Autumn, will divorce following 12 years of marriage.
