GAVIN and Stacey fans were delighted when the show's co-creator Ruth Jones switched on the Barry Christmas lights in character as Nessa.
The actress, 53, came dressed in black cropped hair, a stripey T-shirt and leather skirt completed with knee-high boots - the iconic Nessa look.

As she walked on stage, she asked the crowd: "What's occurin'?"
"There are some lookers out here tonight. A few exes in the crowd there I can see," she continued.
Nessa makes her appearance on the stage in Barry, Wales, in the lead up to the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special, which will air on December 25.
Half the show is set in Wales, with the other half in Billericay, Essex.

Ruth and co-creator James Corden confirmed the series would be coming back after a nine year hiatus.
In a joint statement, they said: "Over the last 10 years we've talked a lot about Gavin And Stacey - where they might be today and what their lives might look like.
"And so in secret we took the plunge and wrote this one-hour special.
"We've loved revisiting Barry and Essex again and bringing the characters back together has been a joy."

She told OK! magazine: "It was brilliant. It was so good to be back on Barry Island! I really was quite nervous about it because expectations are so high.
"I thought, Can I do it again? Can I get the character back properly? But as soon as we were all back together it was just like a family reunion. At the end we were all really sad to say goodbye."
