Jennifer Aniston has said that Friends was the "gift of a lifetime".

The Rachel Green actress was honoured with the Icon Award at the 2019 E! People's Choice Awards yesterday (November 10) and Aniston dedicated part of her speech to the "iconic" show she's starred in for a decade.

"If I have any claim to this word 'Icon', it's only because I was able to be on an iconic show with an iconic cast and an iconic haircut," she said.

"I mean Friends was the gift of a lifetime, and I would not be standing up here without that amazing show, without those amazing five other actors, and with an audience who stuck with us for a decade and through streaming services now.

"You believed in us. You really did. And you believed in those very impossibly large apartments," she added, poking fun at those New York flats they used to live in – which, by the way, are really, really expensive.

Elsewhere, in other Friends-related news, Aniston has recently teased that she and her co-stars are "working on something".

"We would love for there to be something, but we don't know what that something is," she said during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

"So we're just trying. We're working on something."

Friends airs daily on Comedy Central in the UK and is also streaming on Netflix.
