A section of the ceiling came down after audiences heard falling water

A theatre in the West End of London was evacuated last night after part of the ceiling collapsed during a show.

Screaming was heard from the audience about ten minutes into a performance of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman at the Piccadilly Theatre in Denman Street, just before 8pm. The theatre holds about 1,100 people.

Three men and two women were treated at the scene by paramedics for cuts and injuries caused by falling debris. Four of the injured were taken to hospital afterwards and one was discharged after treatment. Two others declined to be treated.
