The Voice judge Olly Murs in tears over fall out with twin brother who he hasn't seen in 10 YEARS - Daily Mail

Olly Murs breaks down in tears on The Voice over fallout with his twin brother who he hasn't seen in 10 YEARS

Olly Murs broke down in tears after talking about his twin brother who he hasn't seen in over 10 years.

In scenes set to air on Saturday night's episode of The Voice, the singer got emotional after discussing his brother Ben with fellow judge Tom Jones, revealing that he has 'no idea where he lives'.

Olly missed Ben's wedding in 2009 because he was performing at the semi-finals of The X Factor

According to the Sun, Olly admitted: 'We had a big argument.

'I feel like the next time I'm going to see him is when we lose somebody close in our family, and I don't want that to be the case.'

The tearful moment came after Olly and the judges listened to a performance by twins on The Voice.

'It brings back memories when I see twins. When we were kids we used to sing all the time', he said.

He added that the heartbreaking situation had been even worse for his mum, who Ben has also cut all ties with.

Sir Tom then offered him words of reassurance, saying: 'I understand what you're feeling, but you will do it — you'll get back together.'

The pair fell out in 2009 after the Heart Skips a Beat singer dropped out of being best man at Ben's wedding as it clashed with the talent show schedule.

He eventually came second to Joe McElderry in the TV talent competition's final.

But it isn't only Olly who his brother has left behind, with Ben also distancing himself from his parents and their sister, as the Dear Darlin' hitmaker admitted 'Christmas has never been the same' since.

Asked by Lorraine Kelly in 2018 if he though the rift could ever heal, Olly said: 'I hope so, of course, it's mad because every year I think about it, (will it be) nine years, 10 years.

'I did text him for his birthday but he changed his number. Christmas has never been the same.'

Olly previously told the Mirror: 'It's difficult, it's sad and it always has been a touchy subject for me because it's not just me and him, there are a lot of other people involved, [like] my mum.'

He went on to confess that he hoped that he would see his brother again 'one day'.

Ben, who took on his wife Amy's last name, Hart, after tying the knot described his brother as a 'self-obsessed sell-out' and said he never wanted to speak to him again after Olly failed to attend his wedding.

The X Factor finalist was forced to remain at the show's north London studios, meaning he missed seeing Ben marry bride Amy on December 5.

Ben has even taken his wife Amy's surname Hart to further distance himself from the singer.

Speaking of his wedding, Ben told the now defunct News of the World: 'Something was missing and that was Olly. It's clear people like Simon Cowell are more important to him than me.

'He's a self-absorbed sell-out. Our family was torn apart because of The X Factor. Things have got to the point where if I have children, I don't even want Olly to meet them.

Bad timing: Olly said he had hoped to still make the wedding, with his family hoping that Simon Cowell would step in and offer to charter a helicopter to allow the singer to make the short journey

'I watch my brother - the same person I shared a womb with - on TV now and it's like I don't even know who he is.'

At the time, Olly said he had hoped to still make the wedding, with his family hoping that Simon Cowell would step in and offer to charter a helicopter to allow the singer to make the short journey.

And while Ben said he understood his brother's desire to win the competition but was heartbroken he didn't tell him himself he wasn't going to be his best man.

'I kept reading how Olly had said he was "gutted" he couldn't make it, but when the wedding came I had my mobile in my pocket all day hoping he would call or even text to say "good luck" or "congratulations".

'I never heard from him. It was heartbreaking.'

Yet Olly has previously insisted that the feud goes beyond just missing the wedding.

Back in 2014 the Troublemaker singer told the Radio Times: 'His wedding was his excuse for not having me in his life any more. He got into a relationship with his now wife, and I don't think she ever liked us as a family.

'For 25 years of my life, I always came first in his life and he always came first in mine. I loved my brother to bits.

'Anything he needed or he wanted I'd do for him. But at that point in my life I was like, as much as I love him, I have to do this for myself, I have to change my life. I never expected him to react the way he did.'
