Scarlett Moffatt EXCLUSIVE: ‘The changing room can be a battlefield’ Star talks body positivity, empowering women to love their bodies and being honest about having ‘bad days’

She’s the TV star who’s become an advocate for body confidence.

And Scarlett Moffatt once again discussed the importance of body positivity and admitted that the ‘changing room can be a battlefield in itself’ as she launches the second wave of her Scarlett Loves Peacocks fashion edit.

The I’m A Celebrity favourite, 29, also opened up on how she’s empowering women not to let their bodies stop them from doing things they love and revealed that she’s being more ‘honest’ with her fans when she has ‘bad days.’

Fabulous: Scarlett Moffatt discussed the importance of body positivity and admitted that the ‘changing room can be a battlefield in itself’ as she launches the second wave of her Scarlett Loves Peacocks fashion edit

Since being propelled to fame on Channel 4’s Gogglebox, Scarlett has faced her fair share of internet trolls and body shamers.

However, while she’s previously lashed out at body shamers in the past, Scarlett is now focusing her energy on helping other women smile when they look in the mirror through the launch of her new Spring/Summer range with Peacocks.

Discussing her latest collaboration with the Highstreet chain in an exclusive chat with MailOnline, Scarlett said: ‘The collection is sizes 8-22. And again, there’s no labels, no ‘plus size’ or any of that. You just pop into the store and if you see anything you like you just get it in your size.

‘I just wanted to make sure that this range didn’t exclude anybody, I wanted to make sure that every woman could go in and feel like they could buy something that could fit them.’

Revealing how she faces her own body image struggles, she continued: ‘I know for myself how critical I can be on my own body and how other women could be critical on their bodies no matter their size. So, I wanted to make sure that they can go in and choose.

‘Sometimes the changing room could be a battlefield in itself, so I’ve tried to eliminate that feeling.’

Meanwhile, the star revealed how she’s going to promote body positivity in the coming year, adding that the main thing she’ll do is to be open with fans if she’s having a ‘bad’ or 'c**p’ day.

‘Being honest with people, I never want to portray that every day I wake up and I’m happy with myself, because that’s not the case. Sometimes I have bad days as well’ she explained.

‘I think being honest on those bad days, saying “I’m having a bit of a c**p day”. If you’re looking in the mirror and you don’t love yourself, don’t feel bad, tomorrow’s another day.

‘The message kind of gets muddled when it’s all positivity all the time. We’re not robots, everyone has c**p days. It’s just making sure that the positive outweighs the negative.

‘I definitely have more positive days now than negative days, and that to me is a win. I just want for people to make sure that they’re not giving themselves a hard time.’

And Scarlett, who recently starred as the Fairy Godmother in panto over the festive season, had a defiant message for those who sometimes let their image stop them from living their best lives.

Choice: I know for myself how critical I can be on my own body and how other women could be critical on their bodies no matter their size. So, I wanted to make sure that they can go in and choose

Confidence:  ‘Sometimes we really give ourselves a hard time and there’s just no need for it. You shouldn’t let the way you look stop you from doing the things you love'

She said: ‘Sometimes we really give ourselves a hard time and there’s just no need for it. You shouldn’t let the way you look stop you from doing the things you love.

‘I know how difficult holidays for example can be for some people. I know sometimes people don’t want to go around the pool because they feel self-conscious. But if you’re around the pool and people are more interested in what you look like, then they’re not really having a good holiday are they?

‘You just have to try to put yourself in that mindset that you shouldn’t let it stop you from doing the things you love. The world would be so boring if we all looked the same!’

The brunette beauty’s weight changes have been well documented, with Scarlett famously losing three stone following her stint in the Jungle in 2016 as she felt she had to 'look a certain way'.

Positive words: 'Being honest on those bad days, saying “I’m having a bit of a c**p day”. If you’re looking in the mirror and you don’t love yourself, don’t feel bad, tomorrow’s another day'

At the time, the star wentb though an incredible transformation, dropping from 11 stone to eight stone.

Scarlett has since told in recent months how she’s ‘finally happy’ within her body and is embracing her gorgeous curves, however, she admits that there are still days when she doesn’t ‘like herself’.

She explained: ‘There’s some days that I like myself and there’s some days when I don’t.

‘I just think that’s this whole body movement, we just have to make sure that whatever your body is, whether that’s slim or curvy or whatever, all that matters is that you’re happy.

‘Because really, if my next-door neighbour is super thin, or a bit curvier, it makes no difference in my life, but it will make a difference in their life. As long as you’re happy in yourself, and are healthy because your health is your wealth, I think that’s all that matters.

‘Don’t focus on being a certain size or shape, because that’s when you can get upset with yourself.’

As for the trolls who try to bring her down?

‘I think that sometimes, they maybe just they are not happy in themselves and they want a bit of attention’ she mused. I don’t know the reasons.

‘The world would be a lot easier if there weren’t trolls. It’s a hard one because social media has so many good points, but there are those who spoil it as well. If we could just get rid of that, then it would be great!’

Scarlett Loves Peacocks SS20 edit is out now in-store and online at www.peacocks.co.uk ranging in sizes 8-22 with prices starting from £6.00.

The bright side: ‘You just have to try to put yourself in that mindset that you shouldn’t let it stop you from doing the things you love. The world would be so boring if we all looked the same!'
