PHILLIP Schofield awkwardly wrapped his arm around Ruth Langsford as Holly WIlloughby praised his 'heart of gold' after This Morning won at the NTAs.
The show triumphed in the Live Magazine Show category once again, with Holly and Phil taking to the stage alongside their co-stars and team.
This Morning beat Loose Women, Sunday Brunch and Good Morning Britain.
Holly, 38, took to the mic first and said it was so exciting to win as it was her 10th year with Phil on the show.
She said: "We love making this show, this is a special one because this is 10 years, which is ridiculous.
"10 years by the side of this silver haired man with a heart of gold, I couldn't wish for more."
Back in April last year, Ruth made a formal complaint to ITV's new head of daytime TV Emma Gormley over Phillip’s conduct.
However, Phil was keen to reach out to Ruth on stage as she stood next to him, wrapping his arm around her waist and taking to the mic to thank her and husband Eamonn Holmes for their work on the Friday show.
He said: "Eamonn and Ruth, your Friday's are fantastic, we love you so much. You should say something too I think."
Ruth, 59, then stepped forward and said: "Thank you so much, 10 years, wow, what an achievement.
"It's an absolute honour to go on that show every single day, we love it because we know you love it and you're the people that vote for us.
"10 years in a row is an absolutely amazing achievement for everybody here.
"Thank you to all the people standing on this stage but mostly to you all for watching, thank you very much we love you."
Meanwhile GMB host Piers chose to boycott the ceremony at London's O2 Arena, he made his feelings known as he live tweeted the awards show from his sofa.
He wrote sarcastically: "They're as shocked as I am."
On this morning's Good Morning Britain, he had explained his reason for boycotting despite being nominated.
He said: "I would rather garrotte myself than sit through another Ant and Dec, Holly and Phil carve up so I will be at home with a nice bottle of wine.”
However he is planning on making his feelings known at the event by going on social media.
He warned: "I will be live tweeting and I think it’s fair to say I will be on some cases and I won't be holding back."
The one big happy family narrative may take a little bit of a hit, so you may want to tune into my twitter feed at 7.30.”
Discussing it again later in the show, Piers said: "The winners have to be Holly and Phil and Ant and Dec. I'm not saying they fix, but they have the same agent."
He added: “It’s important that they win not least for their gigantic egos.”
