Caroline Flack breaks silence to show support for Love Island - digitalspy.com

Love Island's Caroline Flack has broken her social media silence to share her support to the cast and crew of the ITV2 show ahead of the National Television Awards.

The reality series has been nominated in the Best Challenge Show category, and Caroline shared a good luck message on her Instagram Story ahead of tonight's (January 28) ceremony.

"Good luck to all the team and cast at tonight's NTAs... it's such a fun night... cmon @loveisland," she wrote.

Caroline stepped down from presenting the winter series after she was arrested last month. She later attended court and pleaded not guilty to assault, and was released on conditional bail until her trial in early March.

Her public message of support for Love Island follows after Caroline told her Instagram followers over Christmas that she was taking a step back from social media on the advice of her team.

"Been advised not to go on social media ... but I wanted to say happy Christmas to everyone who has been so incredibly kind to me this year..... this kind of scrutiny and speculation is a lot to take on for one person to take on their own..." she wrote.

"I'm a human being at the end of the day and I'm not going to be silenced when I have a story to tell and a life to keep going with .... I'm taking some time out to get feeling better and learn some lessons from situations I've got myself into to.

"I have nothing but love to give and best wishes for everyone."

Soon after Caroline's departure, Laura Whitmore was announced as her replacement, and the new host later revealed that Caroline has been nothing but supportive of her taking over hosting duties.

"She has been incredibly gracious and supportive of me taking on the role for the winter series," Laura said.

"She's a brilliant host and I just hope that I can give the role the justice it deserves while she is taking some time off."

Meanwhile Love Island bosses have also said that the "door is open" for Caroline to return as the show's host, with the show's commissioning editor Amanda Stavri saying earlier this month: "We are continuing to talk to Caroline. We are in constant contact and the door is open."

The National Television Awards are airing live on ITV while Love Island airs on ITV2. You can catch up on the show via ITV Hub.
