PIERS Morgan called National Television Awards host David Walliams a "d***head" tonight and mocked This Morning's win at the expense of Good morning Britain.
The GMB host has been vocal of his dislike of Walliams after the BGT host liked a string of tweets criticising him despite being nice to his face.
Watching the show from the comfort of his own home after boycotting the ceremony, Piers wasted no time in criticising his rival's hosting skills.
He began by writing: "David Walliams already very very annoying. #NTAs."
Name-checking Ricky Gervais, who was in the crowd after his recent critically acclaimed mauling of the Hollywood elite at the Golden Globes, Piers wrote: "Walliams bombing so badly. Unbearable to know @rickygervais is sitting in the audience but we have to endure this horror hosting.
"Come on Ricky, storm the stage.. #NTAs."
He then turned his attention to This Morning's triumph in the Best Live Magazine category.
Sharing a screen grab of Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's shocked faces as the show named winner the O2 Arena, he sarcastically added: "They’re as shocked as I am."
Walliams playfully referenced Judy Finnigan's famous outfit blunder, when her top fell open as she accepted an award beside her husband Richard Madeley in 2001, by stripping down to his pants.
He perched on Ant and Dec's lap as it was revealed he was the recipient of the Best Judge gong.
Furious Piers wrote: "F*ck me. Just when you thought it couldn't possibly get any worse, creepy Walliams strips half naked to give himself an award."
When a follower asked why he hated Wallimas so much, Piers replied: "Nothing personal - he's just a massive d***head."
He also told a follower that his appearance on tomorrow morning's GMB would be more entertaining than anything in the NTAs.
And when Ant and Dec won the Best Presenter category for the 19th time, he fumed: "Awww, they feel more sick every year... yep, know the feeling boys. 🤮."
Earlier today Piers revealed he was boycotting the National Television Awards this evening because he doesn’t want to see Holly and Phillip win again.
The 54-year-old said he would rather “garrotte” himself than attend the ceremony with the rest of the “happy ITV family” as he mocked the fact that the This Morning presenters and Ant and Dec are always victorious.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, the presenter moaned: “I would rather garrotte myself than sit through another Ant and Dec, Holly and Phil carve up so I will be at home with a nice bottle of wine.”
However he is planning on making his feelings known at the event by going on social media.
He warned: "I will be live tweeting and I think it’s fair to say I will be on some cases and I won't be holding back."
"The one big happy family narrative may take a little bit of a hit, so you may want to tune into my twitter feed at 7.30.”
Discussing it again later in the show, Piers said: "The winners have to be Holly and Phil and Ant and Dec. I'm not saying they fix, but they have the same agent."
He added: “It’s important that they win not least for their gigantic egos.”
His comments come after a bumpy few months for Phillip who has been at the centre of a civil war at This Morning, with a series of presenters unhappy about the host’s attitude behind the scenes.
Tensions are also said to have risen between him and his co-host Holly after she won a Bafta award for hosting last year's I'm A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here! alongside Declan Donnelly.
Eight ITV presenters have since spoken to The Sun about what they described as a “toxic” environment at This Morning.
This Morning's Friday presenter Ruth Langsford even made an official complaint against him.
At the time the story emerged, a spokeswoman for ITV insisted it was "malicious gossip" and Holly and Phil remain "great friends".
