It's been confirmed which characters Peter Sarsgaard and Jayme Lawson will be playing in Matt Reeves' superhero reboot The Batman.
Cameras started rolling on the movie earlier this week, and Warner Bros has now issued a full cast release with some surprising new production details.
Rumours floating around the project had Sarsgaard down for the role of villain Harvey 'Two-Face' Dent, while Lawson was speculated to be playing Batgirl, but it seems they couldn't be further from the truth.

Sarsgaard's face will apparently remain intact, featuring on-screen as Gotham DA Gil Colson instead, and Lawson is on board as mayoral candidate Bella Reál.
Reeves' bite of the Bat-cherry has already seen some surprising castings – Colin Farrell as traditionally grotesque baddie The Penguin? – so could the director be secretly introducing two famous characters and disguising them for now?
It should be noted that Gil and Bella aren't established DC Comics characters, so while – officially, at least – Sarsgaard won't be turning into Two-Face and Lawson won't be choosing a life of vigilantism as Batgirl, don't rule out a twist or two.
Elsewhere, Bruce Wayne star Robert Pattinson was recently forced to explain himself after specific quotes about the character attracted some fan backlash.
The Batman has a release date of June 25, 2021.
