Note: This article contains major spoilers from Star Trek: Picard's latest episode, 'Maps and Legends'.
Star Trek: Picard continues apace, and its second episode contains a big connection to Next Generation that will majorly affect future storylines.
If you remember, The Next Generation's final ever episode, 'All Good Things...', saw Jean-Luc Picard sees visions of the future where he suffers from a neurological disorder called Irumodic Syndrome.

In Picard's latest episode, the captain reaches out to the same doctor who served with him on the USS Stargazer to examine whether he is fit to return to Starfleet.
However, he's told he has an abnormality in his parietal lobe that is turning into the same neurological condition, with Picard saying that he was told decades ago that the abnormality could be nothing.
Yet the doctor tells him the condition is now terminal, meaning things have been drastically shaken up going forward.

Meanwhile, last week's series premiere saw a big twist as Isa Briones' character Dahj was killed off by assassins. It wasn't the last we saw of the actress though, as she also plays twin sister Soji.
However, the actress has revealed she did not initially realise she was going to be playing two characters, admitting: "I didn't find out that I was going to be playing multiple characters until my final callback, because someone let it slip.
"They're like, 'Yeah, so the story is gonna be about you and, like, your twin', and I was like, 'What? I want double the pay, two meals a day and two trailers!' One for me and for my big personality."
Star Trek: Picard airs on CBS All Access in the US and Amazon Prime internationally, including the UK.
