Bush fires decimating portions of rural New South Wales and Queensland could pose a serious risk to the current series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The ITV show - hosted by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly - is poised to return for a nineteenth series on November 17, but producers are said to be concerned about the natural disaster and its proximity to their purpose built camp.

The nearest reported fires have been 10 kilometres away at Queensland's Lamington National Park, prompting bosses to 'closely monitor' the situation ahead of the launch.

Coming soon: Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are poised to return for the latest series of I'm A Celeb, but the bush-fires currently tearing across New South Wales and Queensland have put its forest camp at risk

As always, the series will be filmed on a disused banana plantation in dense forest near to Murwillumbah, a remote town in far-north eastern New South Wales, close to the Queensland border.

A source told The Mirror: 'We are in constant contact with the NSW fire brigade and are closely monitoring the situation.

'We currently have no cause for concern. The health and safety of all our production crew and celebrities are of the utmost importance.'

It's understood three people have lost their lives as more than 100 fires sweep across the area, which has experienced high temperatures over recent months, with 1,300 firefighters working to put out the blaze.

Hundreds of schools and nursing homes will be closed on Tuesday as a deadly ring of bushfires is set to encroach on Sydney, officials have warned.

NSW Department of Education released on Monday a list of public and independent schools across the state that will shut down as dangerous blazes continue to threaten Sydney's suburbs.

'Safety remains the number one priority. If is not safe to travel to school please do not attend and inform the school of your intention,' said Education Minister Sarah Mitchell.

Fire chiefs are expecting 'catastrophic' conditions as temperatures are set to reach 37C, 60km/h winds, and low levels of humidity on Tuesday, November 12.

Chief of the Defence Force Angus Campbell issued an order to local base commanders to make clear they can use defence resources in the fire effort.

RAAF aircraft have transported firefighter strike teams from Canberra, Adelaide and Hobart to Port Macquarie.

The suburbs most directly at risk are near the bushland areas around the city such as the Hawkesbury region and Hornsby in the north, Penrith in the west and Camden and Sutherland in the south.

Ben Shepheard of the New South Wales Rural Fire Service warned that 'everywhere in Sydney', as well as surrounding areas, may be affected.

'The high winds we are expecting on Tuesday mean that embers travel large distances. For example, if there is a fire in Garigal National Park then embers may fall in and around Manly,' he told Daily Mail Australia.

The news comes as rumoured contestants Ian Wright and Caitlyn Jenner touched down in Brisbane over the weekend.

Teasing the I'm A Celeb rumours, Caitlyn told The Sun: 'I am not allowed to talk about this until next week. I am not sure what I can say. I am not allowed to say anything.'

The star was then reportedly wished well during her stint on the show, to which she added: 'Thank you. I don't know how it works!'

It's thought she will not speak about her gender reassignment while on the show.

She said in a recent interview with The Mirror: 'It is not something I talk about. Yes, I had gender confirmation and that for me was important.

'For many trans people it is not important to them. But for me it was. Femininity and womanhood is in your brain and in your soul. That is the issue.

'It is not what is between your legs. So yes, I had it done. But that is all out of respect to me, my privacy but also respect to the community. It is really not something you talk about.'
