A NAUGHTY snog with Holly Willoughby, sex confessions from Mel B and possibly even a long-awaited marriage.
In 2019, Baby Spice Emma Bunton had a decidedly grown-up year.

The 43-year-old also fulfilled a long-held ambition to reunite the world’s biggest ever girl group, the Spice Girls, with stratospheric commercial results that stunned the music industry.
In an exclusive interview today, Emma reveals the band WILL continue WITHOUT missing member Victoria Beckham, even if Posh wants to get back in on the action.
She says: “Having done the stadium tour we felt really strong as a four-piece. That is probably what we will stick to now. If she’d like to join us for a show, that would be amazing. But I’m not sure it’s what she has in mind.”
However, in terms of Spice life with Geri Horner, Melanie Chisholm and Mel B, it’s full steam ahead as far as Emma is concerned.

During a lunch at her house recently, the band agreed to “a bit of a breather” following their summer reunion — but now Emma is ready for more live shows and the launch of the anticipated Spice Girls animation.
“We talked about doing other stuff,” she says excitedly. “I personally would love to get a move on. I just think our show is ready so I want to give them a kick up the bum and say, ‘Come on, let’s do this’. But we’ve got kids at school and we’d love them to come, so we just have to make sure it’s right for everyone.”
While many critics predicted a reunited Spice Girls without Posh would be lacklustre, the quartet delivered record-breaking ticket sales of £66,683,095, with 697,357 fans seeing the shows.
And Emma insists they were entirely responsible for the concept of the tour — and the band’s Girl Power message being updated to People Power for 2019.

“A lot of people have a perception of us,” she argues, “but us girls are very strong, we’re very creative. When we sit down we created the show from scratch.
At the beginning Geri and I wrote down a list of words that we wanted the show to be. One was inclusive. It had to have moved on like everyone has but still have the nostalgia.”
The summer shows were seen by many of the world’s biggest pop stars. And Emma reveals that backstage at Wembley Stadium, Adele fulfilled a life-long dream to join the girl band.
She recalls: “She came backstage and she was singing all of our songs. When we walked in to see her she was in the middle of Stop, so we all joined in.

“It’s a good song because you can all do the dance routine too. We hung out in the green room after she was singing with us and relaxed.
"It was so nice just to sit and have a chat and she was excited, obviously, because she is doing new music.”
At one point it looked like the entire Spice reunion could be in peril because of Mel B’s very saucy TV revelation that she had slept with Geri in the early days of the band.
Then in August, during a game of “sleep with, marry and kill”, Mel B said of her bandmates: “I want to sleep with Baby Spice but kill Geri.”

“No she didn’t!” Emma squeals, when I tell her about the revelation. “Oh my goodness she’s naughty, but that’s why we love her, don’t we? It’s so funny.
When I saw her recently I was like, ‘What are you like?’ But that’s the fiery side that we love.”
It was also Mel B who revealed she had once caught Emma snogging her close pal Holly Willoughby during an episode of telly show Celebrity Juice.
When I raise that incident, Emma says with a sigh: “Oh deary me. I mean, was she there, Mel B? I’m not sure she was. The thing is I think it’s funny. Girls are girls, I’m not denying it.”

But unlike her wild bandmate, who said last week she is dating multiple men, Emma remains firmly committed to her fiancé Jade Jones, despite the pair having had the “world’s longest engagement” at nearly nine years. They have dated on and off for more than 20 years.
She explains: “Do you know what, I really do believe each to their own. For me, I am a one-man girl and as you can see I’ve been with Jade for so long and I love that kind of connection, that intimacy with one person, that falling in love.
“I love that. That’s me all over. But I honestly think everybody is wired differently and why shouldn’t anyone feel and do and love whoever they want?”
The couple have two children together — Beau, 12, and Tate, eight — and Emma is relaxed about her engagement lasting more than eight years. She explains: “We haven’t got to that stage. It is the world’s longest engagement but if Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell can do it . . . they’ve never married.”

I wonder if the lack of a formal union is actually the secret to their enduring happiness — Emma and Jade are genuinely one of the only truly happy couples in the entertainment industry.
Lothario baker
Emma responds: “Maybe it is, I don’t know. One day I know we would love a wedding and we want the kids to be there. I really feel for other people who struggle.
I read all the stories like everyone else. It’s not nice, this industry is fast, you travel a lot, you’re in and out of studios for long hours and overnight so I know how difficult it is.
"But we met young, we grew up together. We have a lot of respect for each other and he really supports me and everything I do. Jade is more patient than me, 100 per cent. He is the patient one.”

At that exact moment, Jade comes out of the shower and Emma swoons at his body. Believe it or not, she still fancies her man of the past 15 years. She says with a giggle: “We were out on Saturday night with friends and were kissing at the table. We adore each other.”
She also insists Jade has no reason to worry about Paul Hollywood, the lothario baker who she has been working with in her role as presenter of the US version of The Great British Bake Off.
When I ask if Paul has ever tried it on, she replies immediately: “Absolutely not, Dan. No, of course not.”
They have become pals, but she says they prefer talking about bread-making rather than Paul’s complicated love life.

She says: “He’s really, really got a great sense of humour. Obviously, when we’re on set it’s very much he’s a professional. I would say we are pals, definitely.
"But we don’t talk about what’s in the Press or anything, we’re just at work. But he is really good fun — very sweet and very cool.”
Away from the Spice Girls and her TV commitments, this week Emma reaches another music milestone. She is headlining at the Royal Albert Hall for a Christmas spectacular on the back of the release of her adorable festive single Coming Home For Christmas.
Emma — who has had seven top ten singles in a very successful solo career — explains: “I have always wanted to do it. I am Christmas mad. My house looks like Christmas has thrown up all over it.

The Royal Albert Hall is really scary but I’ve done lots there with the Spice Girls and I got to sing there with my school choir a million years ago.
“I’m going to have loads of my family and friends there, it’s going to be a massive party.”
