Some eagle-eyed football fans may have noticed Jamie Vardy's omission from the Leicester City squad today (December 28) – and that's because his wife Rebekah Vardy just gave birth.

The former I'm A Celebrity star – who was accused of selling stories about Coleen Rooney back in October, but denied the claims – has welcomed her fifth child and the professional footballer shared the wonderful news with his Twitter followers.

He wrote to his 790,000 followers today: "Over the moon to let you know our beautiful little girl has arrived. Becky and baby are both doing well and we are all totally in love with the newest member of our team."

Plenty of congratulatory comments soon appeared, with one fan writing: "Congrats Jamie, hope both of you and baby are doing well."

"How wonderful! Congratulations Vardy family," read another reply.

The baby girl is Rebekah's third child with Jamie. She has two children from previous relationships, while Jamie has a daughter from a prior relationship.

Meanwhile, the recent Digital Spy 2019 Reader Awards cemented Rebekah's place in showbiz history after her now infamous clash with Coleen won the gong for 'Best Showbiz Moment'.

We're sure she's probably a little bit more excited about her newborn baby daughter, but still, congratulations for both!
