Bobbi Kristina Brown’s ex Nick Gordon dies ‘from drug overdose’ on New Year’s Day 5yrs after Whitney Houston - The Sun

BOBBI Kristina Brown's "controlling" ex-fiance Nick Gordon has died on New Year's Eve from a suspected overdose, according to a report.

Gordon, 30, suffered a series of heart attacks after he was dumped unconscious at a Florida hospital by friends, it was claimed on Wednesday night.

Sources told DailyMail.com that his heartbroken family were told of his death - which happened during New Year's Eve celebrations.

One said: "It's early days but the suggestion is he was taking drugs with friends and he passed out.

"They drove him to the hospital, took him inside and then left him there.

"Whatever you think of Nick and his lifestyle, it’s terribly sad that his supposed friends just dumped him and drove away."

GRIEVING BROTHER

Gordon's grieving brother Junior Walker wrote on Facebook: "God why did I have to lose my brother on New Year."

He later posted a heart-wrenching photo of of himself and Gordon as young boys smiling for a formal photo.

Gordon's death, which was confirmed by his lawyer on Wednesday, comes five years after his fiancee Bobbi, Whitney Houston's daughter, died following a drugs binge - which he was found responsible for.

She was found unconscious in a bathtub at their home in Alpharetta, Georgia, with a cocktail of drugs in her system and spent six months in a coma before her 2015 death.

BOBBI'S DEATH

Gordon never faced criminal charges over Bobbie's wrongful death but was held legally responsible following a civil case.

His reported death comes after Gordon's split from on-off girlfriend Laura Leal - who he was accused of attacking leading to several domestic abuse arrests.

But Laura is said to be "absolutely devastated", according to the source, who added: "They were seeing less of each other recently because they wanted some space.

"But she cared deeply for him and was in a state of shock when she got the phone call."

FACE-DOWN IN BATH

Gordon's death comes nearly five years after Brown, the daughter of singers Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, was found face-down and unresponsive in a bathtub in January 2015.

The 22-year-old died after six months in a coma.

Investigators with the medical examiners office were not able to determine exactly how Bobbi Kristina Brown died.

An autopsy showed that she had morphine, cocaine, alcohol and prescription drugs in her body, but the medical examiner couldn't determine if she killed herself, if someone else killed her or if her death was accidental.

Her family blamed Gordon, accusing him in the lawsuit of giving her a toxic cocktail before putting her face-down in the water.

Gordon was never charged in the case, but he was found responsible in a wrongful death lawsuit.

An Atlanta judge ordered him to pay $36 million to Brown's estate.

ORPHANED

Houston brought Gordon into her household as an orphan at the age of 12, raising him and her daughter after divorcing Bobby Brown in 2007.

Gordon wore a large tattoo of Houston's face on his arm and called the singer mom, but the music superstar never fully adopted him or included him in her will.

Houston died in 2012 after she drowned in a bathtub.

Coroner's officials ruled Houston's death accidental and said heart disease and cocaine were contributing factors.

After Houston's death, Gordon and Bobbi Kristina went public with their romance.

In a statement on Wednesday, Gordon's attorney Joe Habachy said: "Despite all of the incredible challenges Nick faced over the last few years I can honestly say that he worked hard to hold his head up and stay sober and that he genuinely wanted a happy healthy life with his family more than anything else."
