'Most of it was from her injury': Caroline Flack's 'stained sheets were soaked with HER blood not Lewis Burton's'... after gory leaked image revealed aftermath of 'assault'

  • On Wednesday, Lewis posted a snap of Caroline's blood-stained sheets while denying the blood on the bed was the result of his injuries
  • The images was taken in the wake of last month's attack, which saw the star charged for assault when she allegedly hit him over the head with a lamp
  • Insiders reported to The Sun that most of the blood was from Caroline, after it was reported in court that she had lacerations to her wrist after the fight
  • Caroline, who jetted to LA last month to spend the New Year away from Lewis, is due to return to court on March 3 for her trial after pleading not guilty

The blood on Caroline Flack's bed sheets following her 'assault' on her boyfriend Lewis Burton was her own blood not his, insiders have claimed.

On Wednesday, the former tennis player, 27, posted a snap of 40-year-old Caroline's blood-stained sheets in the wake of the attack, which saw the star charged for assault when she allegedly hit him over the head with a lamp as he slept.

Following Lewis' subsequent denials that the blood was his, insiders have now claimed to The Sun that 'she was bleeding quite a lot'.

On Wednesday, Lewis insisted the blood on 'Caroline's stained sheets' isn't his after a photo emerged showing her bed after her assault arrest.

He took to Instagram after a photo was obtained and published by The Sun.

Lewis jumped to Caroline's defence following the reports and claimed that it isn't his blood covering the sheets and he wasn't hit over the head by a lamp.

Alongside the photograph, he wrote: 'Bulls**t this isn't my blood and I didn't get hit over the head with a lamp. Can everyone stop now.'

Following on from the staunch denials, sources claimed: 'There is heaps of blood, but it’s not all from Lewis. Most of it was from Caroline’s injury after she smashed a glass and she was bleeding quite a lot from that...

'Things got very out of hand and no one is denying that. But Lewis was not the only one who was bleeding so it’s important to keep that in mind.'

After posting his denial, Lewis went on to profess his love for Caroline, who he is currently unable to see due to court restrictions ahead of her trial in March.

Posting a picture of the pair together in happier times, Lewis wrote: 'I love this girl more than anything no one knows what's going on or what's happened. She's f***ing harmless and the most amazing person I have ever met.'

Caroline rang in 2020 in the US after a turbulent month, which saw her being charged with assaulting Lewis and subsequently having to step down from her £1.2million-a-year Love Island hosting gig.

The winter series of Love Island will begin on January 12 – with Laura Whitmore, 34, the girlfriend of show narrator Iain Stirling, 31, set to host for the first time.
