Dancing On Ice: 'Pensioners shouldn’t be doing this' Trisha Goddard details her worries over competing on the show at 62 as she lands in skate-off after nasty tumble

She was the first celebrity to fall to the ground during her debut performance on Dancing On Ice's launch show on Sunday.

And Trisha Goddard detailed her worries about taking part in the competition at the age of 62 as she landed in next week's skate-off following her disappointing routine, and was awarded just 13.5 out of 40 points.

The former chat show host admitted she felt like she proved a critic - who claimed 'pensioners shouldn't be skating' - right when she took an embarrassing tumble, but enthused she's excited to continue the challenge.

Trisha said she was 'really angry' with herself after her stumble during her and professional partner Łukasz Różyck's performance to Give It Up.

As she prepared to be critiqued by the judging panel, host Phillip Schofield reassured Trisha: 'I always think, and the judges will agree once you've had a tumble to get back and continue is one of the biggest things.'

On feeling disappointed, the TV veteran confessed she thought about the backlash she faced ahead of her stint.

The presenter said: 'Story of my life, I’m really angry with myself. I’m 62. Somebody made a comment saying "pensioners shouldn’t be doing this" and when I fell over I had the comment in my mind.'

Despite scores ranging from three to three-and-a-half, judge Ashley Banjo praised Trisha for continuing with her routine.

The Diversity star, 31, said: 'No you’re proving them wrong the opposite of this. You’re a legend, a pro. You fell, you got up and got through it. To get the high scores you’re going to need more content, more speed, more attack.
