Dancing on Ice's Joe Swash will swap partners this weekend - digitalspy.com

ITV's Dancing on Ice rink will be shaken up this weekend, as Joe Swash is swapping partners after pro Alexandra Schauman suffered a nasty fall.

She confirmed the unfortunate news on Instagram yesterday (January 22), explaining how she's missing training with Joe "terribly" and thanking her co-stars for their love and support this week.

Fellow pro Alex Murphy will step in to partner Joe on Sunday night.

Posting a selfie of her and Joe, Alexandra wrote to her followers: "I'm absolutely heartbroken to have to announce that I'm not able to perform with @realjoeswashy this Sunday due to a injury that I endured after a freak fall. I have missed skating with him terribly this week, he always puts such a big smile on my face.

"I wish him and @almurph18 who is stepping in all the best this upcoming Sunday, I will be there rooting for you and cheering you and everyone else on.

"I also want to give a huge shoutout to the whole DOI family and team who have given me so much love and support this week."

It wasn't just her Dancing on Ice pals wishing Alexandra a speedy recovery either, as plenty of Insta fans covered her comment section with positive messages.

"Get well soon alex xxx," shared one user, while another added: "Sending lots of love. You'll be back on the ice in no time. Look after yourself xxx."

Dancing on Ice continues on ITV at 6pm this Sunday (January 26).
