REMEMBER the Friends episode where Chandler leaves a message for Ross and Rachel’s daughter Emma for her to listen to on her 18th birthday in 2020?
Excited fans recalled the moment in the show as we reached the New Year, and even the actress who played the baby Emma has now got in on the fun.
Fans who played episode four of season 10 at 11.48pm on New Year’s Eve started 2020 with Chandler saying "Hi Emma. It's the year 2020. Are you still enjoying your nap?"
Taking to Instagram, Noelle Sheldon, 17, who was one of the babies who played Emma, uploaded a snap photoshopped to look like she was inside the Friends’ coffee shop Central Perk.
She joked: “Just woke up from the best nap of all time, happy 2020!! (ft. my poorly done photoshop).
“Hope everyone has an excellent year full of family, friends, and laughter!!”
Fans were quick to gush over the post, with one saying: “Yaaaaay! Glad you joined the Emma Woke Up party, hahah!... Love love LOVE! Happy 2020.”
The Friends clip takes place in The One with the Cake, where Ross and Rachel throw their daughter Emma a birthday party, but the gang already has plans.
Chandler and Monica hope to head away for a romantic weekend away, and are less than thrilled to skip it for the bash.
On the video message they record for Emma, Monica says: “We're Aunt Monica and Uncle Chandler, by the way - you may not recognise us because we haven't spoken to your parents in 17 years."
Chandler adds: "We used to be married but then we missed a weekend away together and things kind of unravelled... Because of you."
Emma was actually played by identical twins Cali and Noelle Sheldon, who are now grown up and starred in the horror film Us, by Get Out director Jordan Peele.
They first appeared as the child of Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer’s characters on the show in 2003, and starred until the sitcom ended a year later.
Cali and Noelle got the Friends job after their mum read on a twin parenting blog that many film and TV productions seek out twins for acting jobs due to the time restraints on young actors.
Unsurprisingly given their age, the twins don’t remember their time on the show, but their parents tell them that all the stars of the sitcom were “really nice.”
The hit show Friends arrived on Netflix in the UK on New Year’s Eve 2017 and includes all ten seasons (236 episodes) that aired between 1994 and 2004.
We shared how the Friends stars are earning £16.1 million a year off the repeats.
And as Friends turns 25 this year, here are 25 fascinating facts — like how Ross and Rachel weren’t supposed to be the central couple.
