Coming soon: BBC have confirmed that Killing Eve will be returning to screens this year, as they unveiled their 2020 slate in an epic new trailer
Sadly the trailer failed to reveal much about the upcoming series, as it only showed one pensive frame of Jodie as Villanelle, which appeared in the second series.
Similarly Line Of Duty only showed a frame of Vicky McLure as the famed DI Kate Fleming, in a tense series five moment.
It has previously been hinted by BBC that both shows would be returning to the screen this year, but this is the first time it has been officially confirmed.
Back soon: The preview also confirmed that the sixth series of Line Of Duty will be on screen at some point this year, after 2019's finale left fans reeling
Killing Eve's second series stunned viewers when it ended with Eve bleeding on the ground after being show by Villanelle.
The pair had plotted to run away together after Villanelle admitted her feelings for the MI5 agent, and when she refused, she pulled out a gun and shot her in the chest.
The new series will be also produced by Suzanne Heathcote, who is taking over from Emerald Fennell who wrote the second series.
Jaw-dropping: Following its critically acclaimed first series, Killing Eve continued to earn praise from fans when it return to screens last year
Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge - who wrote the first series - is still involved in the show as an executive producer.
Co-showrunner Sally Woodward Gentle has previously revealed that producers had considered if Villanelle and Eve should 'do a Thelma and Louise', but added: 'Then what do they do?'
She told The Hollywood Reporter that Eve would 'very quickly realise that she had been deluding herself about the reality of what that life would actually be'.
Sally also said the third season would be 'something that feels bold and different from the one before and you can explore big ideas.'
Dark: The series left the fate of Eve (played by Sandra Oh) hanging in the balance with many fans questioning whether the titular character has been killed off
Dark: The sixth series of Line Of Duty has also been hotly anticipated by fans, after it ended with the revelation that the so-called H was actually a group of four corrupt police officers
The sixth series of Line Of Duty has also been hotly anticipated by fans, after it ended with the revelation that the so-called H was actually a group of four corrupt police officers, and one was still at large.
Last month star Martin Compston - who plays Detective Steve Arnott - fuelled fan excitement when he shared a snap of the script for the series' first episode.
Writer Jed Mercurio recently revealed that fans could expect a sixth series in 2020 – but this is the first time it has been officially confirmed.
He told RadioTimes.com in October 2019, 'I would hope it's sometime in 2020, next year.'
