There's a surprising connection between the new series of Love Island and Black Mirror.
While you're probably thinking it's something to do to with the Netflix show making predictions about our reality TV and social media-obsessed society, it's actually a lot more straightforward.
It turns out that the villa in South Africa where the first-ever winter series of Love Island will take place is the same location where Black Mirror episode 'Rachel, Jack & Ashley Too' was filmed.
In the episode – spoilers ahead if you haven't seen it yet – Miley Cyrus plays popstar Ashley O, who is held against her will and kept in a coma in a mansion while her management continues to produce music under her name.
According to Mail Online, the property is said to cost R2 million per month to rent, which is the equivalent of roughly £105,000 pcm.
Meanwhile, new host Laura Whitmore has said that friend Caroline Flack has been "supportive" of her taking over the presenting role for the winter series.
Laura said: "She has been incredibly gracious and supportive of me taking on the role for the winter series.
"She's a brilliant host and I just hope that I can give the role the justice it deserves while she is taking some time off."
The new series of Love Island starts on Sunday and in preparation you can get to know the 12 singletons who will be entering the villa here.
Love Island returns on Sunday, January 12 on ITV2, and you can catch up on the show via ITV Hub.
