Marvel is known for keeping their secrets when it comes to their movies but it looks like we have some new faces coming to play in Thor: Love and Thunder. We don't know that much about the movie but star Tessa Thompson recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Westworld season 3. She kept things fairly tightly under wraps as she confirmed that she has read the script and she has been excitedly texting with Natalie Portman about it. However, Thompson did let one little detail sneak through about one of the new cast members looking to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"Some familiar faces, some new people into the mix, Christian Bale is going to play our villain, which is going to be fantastic."
Back in January, we got word that Christian Bale was eyeing a role in Thor: Love and Thunder and it was even rumored to be the villain. It seems that Thompson has not only confirmed that Bale is going to be in the movie but also that he's going to be playing the villain which is awesome. Bale is one of the best actors working right now and recently got snubbed for his fantastic performance in Ford v Ferarri at the awards season.
Thompson was also asked if Valkyrie is going to maintain her title of King of Asgard and she said: "hell yes".
"If she can't find her Queen she'll just be King and Queen."
With a late 2021 release date we should expect more details about Thor: Love and Thunder to come out soon and production to begin before the end of this year.
Thor: Love and Thunder, directed by Taika Waititi, starring Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, and Christian Bale. It will be released on November 5, 2021.
