Prince Harry could be fast-tracked a US green card with diplomatic status - Express

Mattero Carrera, an immigration expert, has said that the easiest way for the Duke to sort his visa, would be by classification as a British diplomat, given his royal and financial assets. Meghan and Harry recently moved to California from Canada where they have been living for the past few months.

Mr Carrera told the Telegraph Harry would most likely be entering the US on an A1 visa.

He said: “With this he would have been able to enter the US and then adjust his status to a green card."

The move to the US is said to have come after Meghan did not want to pay tax twice on future income, according to the Sun.

A royal insider told the paper: “This move was planned for some time. They realised Canada would not work out for various reasons and they want to be based in the Los Angeles area.”

After announcing that the pair would become financially independent, their first solo engagement was at a JP Morgan event, where Harry gave a moving speech.

Going forward it is likely that the pair will pursue public speaking and social media marketing which could make them “millions”.

According to data from Influencer marketing platform Klear, the pair could make $110 million from just social media alone in the next year.

There have also been claims by the Mail Online, that the Sussex couple could hold talks with President Donald Trump in order to help ensure they receive US taxpayer-funded Secret Service protection.

If it is diplomatic protection that Meghan and Harry seek, they will first have to ask Trump.

The POTUS reportedly holds the power to decide whether to grant the Sussexes security agents for their new Hollywood lifestyle.

As of the 31 of March, Harry will no longer be classed as an 'international protected person' as he and Meghan complete their step down as senior royals.

If the pair had remained part of the royal family, they would have been entitled to secret service agents that are allowed to carry weapons.

However Harry has decided to quit the monarchy, the lines are blurry as to whether he and his wife permitted that privilege any longer.

Twitter users have taken to the site to express their opinion on the latest Megxit development.

One said: “Do NOT give the former Prince Harry & Markle security coverage or privileges here in the US. Send them back to the UK.”

Another replied: “The US Needs not to pay for the security of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. They are not diplomats they are private persons as they wanted. #donotpay”

A third commented: "So Britain will be footing the full security bill, right? It's ludicrous to think America should help with their security."
