The coronavirus has infected hundreds of thousands of people across the world, in turn locking down cities, closing schools and causing families to self-isolate in their homes.
Thousands of people have died after testing positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, which has been found in every continent except Antarctica.
The virus has also made its way into the worlds of sport, film, politics and royalty.
Here we take a look at some of the noteworthy figures to have contracted the illness.
Prince Albert II of Monaco
The 62-year-old reigning monarch confirmed he had tested positive for the virus on Thursday.
However, a palace statement said his health is not worrying.
He is the first head of state who has publicly said he has contracted the virus.
The palace said he is being treated by doctors from the Princess Grace Hospital, named after his US actress mother.
It says Albert is continuing to work from his home office in the palace and is in constant contact with members of his government.
