In a brilliant response to Gal Gadot’s star-studded rendition of Imagine, which didn’t really go down all that well today, comedian Joe Lycett/Hugo Boss has gathered his comedian pals for their own version.
Only, it’s a touch on the cheeky side, we must say.
Overnight Gal got her friends together, including Chris O’Dowd, Mark Ruffalo, Amy Adams et al, to sing a couple verses of John Lennon’s Imagine.
Of course the aim was to lift our spirits amid this horrific coronavirus pandemic.
Instead, it has become an instant meme.
And, after seeing Gal’s Hollywood effort, Joe (who recently changed his name to Hugo Boss) wanted in on the cake.
Ralling the likes of Radio 1’s Greg James, Paul Chuckle, Bake Off’s Noel Fielding, comedian Rosie Jones and Joel Dommett, to name but a few, they belted out an edited version of the Beatles singer’s classic for Twitter.

With basically every other word replaced with ‘bast*rd’.
**Little warning – some swears in the video below. You have been warned**
For instance, lyrics boasted the lines: ‘Imagine there’s no bast*rds…it’s easy if you’re a bast*rd.
‘No bast*rds below us…above us only bast*rds…
‘Imagine all the bast*rds…living for today…to be a bast*rd.’
We mean, you get the point.
It comes after Gal shared her meaningful message on Wednesday night, aiming to inspire everyone to come together during the Covid-19 crisis.
And, honestly, she had the best of intentions and should be applauded.
The actress opened the sweet Instagram video by saying: ‘These past few days got me feeling a bit philosophical. This virus has affected the entire world, everyone. Doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, we’re all in this together.
‘I ran into this video of this Italian guy playing the trumpet on his balcony to all the other people who are locked inside their homes, and he was playing Imagine and there was something so powerful and pure about this video and it goes like this…’

Starting the song off, Gal features Kristen Wiig, Jamie Dornan, Labrinth, James Marsden and Sarah Silverman for the first part of the tune.
Eddie Benjamin stars afterwards, going into Jimmy Fallon, Natalie Portman, Zoe Kravitz, and Sia giving us an iconic belt.
While many loved the sweet gesture, many others found it a little offputting seeing celebrities sing a line into their front camera.
Hey, while we’re all social distancing, this is the closest we’re getting to a drunken karaoke session for a while so we’ll take it.
