The One Show co-presenter Matt Baker missed the latest edition of the BBC series in order to go into self-isolation.
His co-anchor Alex Jones opened up the BBC One chat show by herself on Tuesday (March 17) with the news that Matt was not in the studio — before cutting via video link-up to Matt's living room, where he is likely to stay for the next "two weeks" with his dog Bob.
"One of us [in our house] has a cough, and that means we're following the Prime Minister's advice," he explained to Alex. "And yeah, now spending the next two weeks self-isolating."
Matt then admitted: "To be honest with you, Al, speaking with who we have over the last few days, I kinda expected this to come. I feel as ready as we can do, and more than happy to do our bit and do what's right for everybody — look out for our neighbours."

Alex was delighted to see Matt's dog Bob, and revealed that she would still be "putting [Matt] to use" by checking back with him throughout the shows.
The One Show is at least covered this Friday, seeing as former Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has already announced that she will be co-hosting with Alex.
There is no word yet on whether Matt's new home-working schedule will delay his departure from The One Show. He is currently supposed to depart following the episode airing on Tuesday, March 31.
Matt revealed his plans to leave the BBC One series last December in order to "give somebody else the opportunity to see how big-hearted and generous" One Show viewers can be.
